Pam Pope Courtney represented Trinity this April on a trip to India with Presbyterian Frontier Fellowship. For 3 weeks she traveled with Rev. Cody Watson, an associate with PFF from Alabama. There were two others on the trip.- a pastor from Illinois, and a videographer also from PFF. Her purpose was to learn about needs Trinity might help with in India. They also assisted Leslie with her work to create short informational videos for churches to use to learn more about indigenous people movements. Time was spent with two organizations. The team stayed on a campus with Philip Prasad, founder of the Rural Presbyterian Church of India, visiting schools, participating in worship services and in a special Easter celebration. The RPC ministers to the untouchable Dalit caste. It is a good example of an indigenous people movement. The second group visited was the BORN Network. S.D. Ponraj and his leadership team have an urgent desire to share the Gospel with the 90 million people in the state of Bihar. They provide training opportunities for pastors and field workers. The team was able to encourage and assist with the 10th Anniversary Celebration Conference. This movement is helping to transform Bihar. Pam also had the opportunity to meet with regional leaders of PC(USA), the Church of North India, and the Mizo Presbyterians working in the Delhi slums. She has many stories to share and recommends the Perspectives on the World Christian Movement course offered in Grove City this fall if you are interested in learning more about a Christian worldview or cross-cultural experiences.
